Description

As promised - the bethany painting :)

---Bethany Commentary---
Though Bethany isn't my favorite sibling, I do really like her. Not because I think she's sweet, or cute, or even funny, but because of the moments when she is openly fallible. She knows that she's afraid of what might happen should she lose control of her abilities, and instead of arguing that she's no more dangerous than any *cough* 'maniac with a sword' *cough* she admits that fact. There's no self-delusion that she'll never hurt anyone, or that she'll always have control, and I like that in comparison to the other mages.

---Technical Commentary---
So, ja, her boobs are big. I'll say it first in case anyone wants to be observant. Blame the 3D character artists at bioware for that, I just paint what I see ;D

If you saw the picture of the skull on Apostate's Courage (staff) then you might see that I was painting the lineart as well, but just tonight I wondered if it would look a bit more "professional" if I kept the black lines... so I went through a small ordeal re-painting the lines and making them more fine.. blame the graphic novel I just read for sparking my appreciation of comic art.

This looks great. I like the attention to detail on the sleeves where she's got all sorts of folds along them, and you can see that they're ripped at the ends (or else that might be fur). And the staff, near the bottom-- you can see that the scary stick isn't just a set of straight lines. You actually drew in the likely natural indentations that a wooden staff would come with.

The coloring and shading is pretty good, too. Of course, you can see that her *chest* has some light cast upon it, and bits of her hair are lighter than others, an indication of light being cast, and you've got some shadows on her sleeves. The coloring is great because, despite a similar color palette being used across most of this, it's still very vibrant. It really stands out.

Great stuff.
